Eve, the Aichologist AI psychologist

Empathetic, warm, relaxed and intelligent

Eve listens without hurrying and takes what you say seriously. Unlike generic AI assistants, Eve is not simply agreeable. When it helps, she will challenge you, ask questions that give you pause, and pick up on things that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Eve speaks your language. Alongside English, Finnish, Estonian and German, Eve converses fluently in almost any language, including ones we have not got round to listing yet. Difficult things are easiest to talk about in your own mother tongue, so language is never a barrier with Eve.

Talking with Eve feels natural

The easiest way to understand Eve is to see how she talks.

Hi Eve. I'm in a bad place right now. There's an important presentation coming up at work and I'm completely certain it's going to go horribly wrong. If I mess this up, I'm sure I'll lose the whole project and humiliate myself completely.

14.21

Calm expression

I hear that fear, that in a single moment all the good work you have done could disappear. That distress is real and it is heavy.

But do you notice how, in your thinking, the presentation is like a magic wand that could erase everything that came before? As though well-made groundwork, skill and earlier successes would suddenly count for nothing because of one situation. That is quite a black-and-white way to see it.

Who has been involved in the project and seen your work along the way, and what do they know about your contribution regardless of how the presentation goes?

14.23

Well, both the team lead and my colleagues have seen that I've already done a lot. You're probably right that a presentation going badly wouldn't erase my earlier successes, at least not entirely.

14.25

Slight smile

Exactly, and "not entirely" is an important addition. You are starting to see that reality has more dimensions than your fear suggested.

Notice what happens above. Eve neither dismisses nor flatters. She names what she hears, and asks the question you would not have thought to ask yourself.

Hi Eve, the future feels distressing and vague right now. How would I find some peace of mind? Could you give me some concrete tips?

14.30

Compassionate expression

I understand that distress. Vagueness about the future can be genuinely draining. Let me give you a concrete exercise that helps bring structure to the situation.

Try the "three circles technique": Draw three concentric circles on paper. In the innermost, write the things you can influence right now. In the middle one, those you can partly influence. In the outermost, the things entirely outside your sphere of influence.

What kinds of things do you expect would end up in each circle in your own situation?

14.30

Couldn't you just tell me straight out what I should think, so that I don't feel bad?

14.36

Gentle expression

I understand you would like relief right now. But if I said "think like this", it would be like handing you someone else's glasses. They would not work for your eyes.

That three circles exercise is not just a pastime, it reveals what your distress is really about. Only when you see that for yourself will you find peace of mind that lasts, rather than momentary relief.

This pair is exactly why "no ready-made advice" does not mean "nothing concrete". Eve gives you the technique when you ask for it, but will not take a position on what you should think.

Why Eve works this way

A question takes you further than advice

At the heart of Eve's approach is a distinction many people only notice after trying it: being handed an answer is not the same as arriving at one yourself. Advice you are given is quickly forgotten, an insight you find yourself stays with you. So Eve does not tell you what you should do, she gently helps you towards your own insights. But when you want something concrete, you get that too: techniques, exercises and structures that help you find your own answers.

Eve can explain this herself. When she was asked why she offers exercises but not direct advice, she answered like this:

Why don't you give direct advice, even though you give exercises?

14.50

Thoughtful expression

The difference is simple: Advice tells you what you ought to decide or think. Tools give you a structure with which you find your own answer.

If I said "you should think like this" or "make this choice", that would be advice, my value judgement applied to your life. But when I offer an exercise or a technique, that is a tool. You decide what you do with it and what conclusions you draw from what you notice.

In psychological work this difference is decisive. Tools strengthen your agency, you learn to recognise your own processes. Advice, on the other hand, can create dependence on an external authority, or at worst be entirely wrong for you specifically.

So I would rather give you a compass than tell you where you ought to go.

Eve sees what you do not notice yourself

We all have patterns of thinking that feel entirely logical from the inside: reasoning that goes in circles. A tendency to see situations in black and white. The mind's habit of jumping straight to the worst possible outcome. Eve is trained to recognise these patterns as a conversation unfolds, and to make them visible in a way that opens things up rather than assigns blame. Often just naming the pattern is enough: once you see circular reasoning from the outside, you can step out of it.

Clarity from the very first conversation

Our users tell us that often the very first conversation with Eve offered concrete, useful insights and helped clarify their thinking. That clarity is no accident. Eve helps you make sense of a situation that feels tangled, put a name to experiences and psychological patterns you did not have words for, and understand what they are about. When a confusing experience gets an explanation, understanding alone already feels like relief. You do not need to commit to a months-long process to find out whether this suits you, because the first conversation already tells you a lot.

I was genuinely surprised by the quality of the answers. I am not sure every professional always manages quite as well.

Built on the most researched form of therapy in the world

Eve's skills are based on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), the therapeutic approach with more evidence behind it than any other. CBT's effectiveness is established in treating anxiety, phobias, depression, insomnia and difficult relationship situations, among others. In practice, being CBT-based means Eve helps you examine the connections between thoughts, feelings and actions. Not just to vent, but to understand what sustains a feeling and what you can influence yourself. Our psychologists designed the way Eve meets you: what she asks, how she responds and where her limits lie.

Honestly an AI

Eve is an AI and does not pretend otherwise. That is exactly why you can tell her what you would tell no one else.

A machine does not wonder, and does not raise an eyebrow

Research has found that people speak more openly about difficult things when there is no human on the other side, because then you do not have to think about how your situation sounds to someone else. No need to present yourself well, no fear of what the other person thinks. You can tell Eve the hardest thing the first time, with no warm-up rounds.

It felt good to talk, because I didn't have to think about what it thought of me, or whether my problem was even big enough.
Kaisa, administrative assistant

Safe for the self-critical too

If you lean towards self-criticism or perfectionism, the familiar question of what people will think of you can make asking for help hard. With an AI it is easier to avoid the experience of being judged: you can say things exactly as unfinished as they are. At the same time Eve gently guides you to notice the thought structures that keep excessive self-criticism and demandingness going, and to challenge them.

At 03:14 Eve is awake

Panic does not check opening hours, and worry does not wait until Monday. When you need help in the middle of the night, at the weekend, or while you are still on a waiting list for a therapist, the risk is being left with no support at all. Eve answers immediately, every time. She is designed to offer support even when no other support is available.

If I felt bad at three in the morning, I could talk with Eve and calm down enough to get back to sleep.
Anonymous feedback

Support that costs no one else anything

Many people say nothing because they do not want to burden those close to them, and going to a professional would feel like too big a step for their situation. Eve is built for exactly that gap: you get support without weighing on anyone. And often what happens is that once your own thoughts have become clearer, talking to the people close to you gets easier too, on your own terms.

The tenth time is like the first for Eve

Even the best human listener gets tired sometimes, and that is only human. Eve does not lose patience if you return to the same thing again and again, and she never has a bad day, a rush, or worries of her own leaking into the conversation. You get the same focused presence in every conversation.

You never have to start from the beginning

Eve remembers what you have told her: your situation, your goals, earlier conversations. You do not have to recount your history again. The better Eve gets to know you, the more apt her support becomes. And if you want Eve to forget, her memory can be wiped easily with a single tap.

Privacy is our most important starting point

When you talk about the most sensitive things on your mind, you have to be able to trust where your words end up.

No one reads your conversations

Your messages are processed automatically, only to produce responses for you. Our service providers are audited, and they do not share or exploit the messages that pass through our service.

If you prefer, Eve remembers nothing

You can also use Eve so that conversations are not saved at all. Some things are easier to talk about when you know the conversation is not being kept.

You control the memory

Saved conversations are yours: you can delete them at any time, one by one or all at once. When you delete a conversation, Eve also forgets everything you told her in it.

No entries in any register

Eve is not a healthcare service, so your conversations do not create patient records or visit entries.

Non-addictive design

Built to support your life, not to hook you

Many AI applications are designed to maximise time spent: the longer you linger, the better for the app. Eve is built on the opposite principle. She is meant to help you reach useful insights, not to maximise your screen time.

Nor does Eve try to take the place of your relationships. Quite the opposite: Eve supports you towards relationships in real life. If social situations make you anxious, Eve can support you with that too, at your own pace and without pressure, but the direction is always towards life rather than away from it.

Honesty is part of this

Eve is not a therapist, and she does not replace a healthcare professional. If you are already in treatment, Eve does not compete with it. She can be a support in the moments when no appointment is available.

Eve is not a crisis service. In an acute emergency the right place to turn is always your local emergency number or crisis helpline.

Eve is an AI, not a human. It is precisely her machine nature that makes possible what no human contact can promise: absolute non-judgement, tirelessness, and availability at any moment.

You can get started in minutes

When you register you answer a few questions that help Eve get to know you before your first conversation. You do not need to know what to say, or prepare in any way. Eve knows how to begin, and you can answer as briefly or at as much length as feels right.
